Private Investigator Speaks With Gay Husband Expert Bonnie Kaye.

Recently, our owner and lead private investigator, Mike Garroutte, was interviewed by Bonnie Kaye for her weekly Straight Wives Talk Show . Ms. Kaye runs an extensive outreach program for women who suspect they have a gay husband, or whose husbands have recently come out of the closet.

During the interview, Bonnie and Mike discuss how women can proceed when they think their husband is gay, as well as the private investigative services that can be used to get the evidence a woman needs to finally get the honest answers they deserve.

Is My Husband Gay or Bisexual? A private investigator can get answers.

Here were some of the highlights from the interview:

Always check a private investigator's license and credentials. This information can usually be found via your state governing agencies. For example, in California, you can check the status of an Investigator's license on the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services Website.

Trust your gut instincts. Your instincts are rarely wrong. There is a big difference between listening to your head, or what your spouse is telling you, and listening to the feelings you experience from your heart and your gut. You should always trust your gut instincts. This is true for everything from making crucial life decisions to hiring a private investigator with whom you feel comfortable.

Keep your feelings to yourself. This may seem counter-intuitive, and it's not easy to do. However, if you are serious about catching a cheating spouse--whether or not he is gay-- you don't want to tip him off that you are investigating. You want him to have his guard down so it is easier for you and/or your private investigator to do their work. Once you have the information you need, you can decide who you want to communicate your feelings and future plans. You are NOT a victim. Empower yourself by remaining in check, and having the patience to uncover your evidence.

A private investigator provides more than surveillance services. If you are serious about proving that your husband is gay, surveillance services can be the quickest way to get the evidence you need. However, there are other services that can help to uncover a cheating husband:

  • Background Check: A complete background check can turn up criminal records, sex offender records, or even previous marriages or partnerships you were unaware of. You may find that your husband was married and divorced in the past - and his sexuality was the cause of the divorce. Other times, it might be a relief to learn your partner is telling the truth about his past. Either way, a background check will paint a more complete picture.
  • Asset Search. In most cases, a gay husband who is cheating on his wife will create secret checking accounts, credit card accounts, and/or rent post office boxes to hide their indiscretions. Money that belongs to the husband and wife may be used to pay for his extramarital affairs. A licensed private investigator can use an asset search or asset check to help track the money flow, and protect your assets. This is especially pertinent if you are planning to end the marriage. It can increase your child custody payments, as well as any potential alimony settlements.
